Mira is a charming, affectionate little puppy, one that you can’t help but love at first sight. However, her story is not one of carefree puppyhood and joy. Mira came from a place where she had no future—a breeder who saw her as nothing more than a disposable commodity. The moment she was born, it became clear that she was sick. Because she wasn’t “perfect,” they wanted to euthanize her.

But we saw something in Mira that others didn’t: a wonderful little soul capable of love, resilience, and loyalty. We couldn’t let her life be discarded so easily, so we took her in and immediately began searching for ways to help her.

The Diagnosis: Mira Was Born With a Life-Threatening Heart Disease

After thorough medical examinations, we received devastating news: Mira was born with a rare congenital heart disease known as Mitral Valve Dysplasia (MVD). This means that her heart isn’t functioning properly—her mitral valve doesn’t close as it should, causing blood to flow in the wrong direction. Each heartbeat is a struggle, every breath an effort, and even the smallest activity leaves her exhausted.

The doctors told us that Mira won’t live a long life in this condition. Her heart is weakening, and eventually, it will fail completely. But there is hope—a complex and expensive surgery could save her life. If she undergoes this operation, she could have the chance to live a happy and full life.

A Race Against Time: The Urgency of Mira’s Life-Saving Surgery

For now, Mira’s daily life is sustained by medications that help slow down the progression of her disease. But these are only temporary measures. Her only real chance for survival is the surgery, which costs $50,000—an amount we simply cannot afford on our own.
